Location: Investing.com - The dollar strengthened against the other major currencies on Friday after broadly upbeat U.S. economic reports fueled speculation that the Federal Reserve may raise interest rates again this year. The U.S. dollar index, which measures the greenback’s strength against a trade-weighted basket of six major currencies, rose 0.71% to a three-week high of 98.13. The index ended the week with gains of 1.63%, its best weekly performance since November. Data on Friday showed that while the U.S. economy slowed in the fourth quarter, the pace of the slowdown was not as steep as initially estimated.
